1. Post Content in the Appropriate Category
Please post your opinions/inquiry in the appropriate location based on the content of your post. If you're not sure where a topic may fit, you may post it in ”Other Areas.” Inappropriately placed topics or those that become “derailed” will be moved by a moderator or forum administrator.

2. Do not double post forum threads
Posting your thread under the appropriate topic will highlight it as new and will be viewed by your ALSC colleagues. It is not necessary to repeat the post under another topic. Moderator or forum administrators will delete double posts, and the offending poster will be warned. More severe action will be applied to repeat offenders.

3. Do not "serial" post
Do not post separate messages adding on to your own previous post when other members are not engaged in the conversation. This will be considered “serial” posting, which clutters the threads and hinders interest in your original thread. The forum is intended to facilitate interaction and communication among members. Multiple posts in response to your own comments will be deleted, please use the “Edit Your Post” function found above each post. The Edit feature should be used to correct misspellings, modify/add to your post etc.

4. Responses should be relevant
If someone has taken the time to post an opinion/inquiry, they are interested in the courteous opinion/feedback from their ALSC Colleagues. Single word responses are not usually of much benefit to the poster or conversation in general. Replies such as "yes" "no" "sounds good" "I agree" "what he said", not only clutter up the forum, but they also do not add relevant content to the discussion and will be deleted at the discretion of forum moderators.

5. Provide references and commentary to posts of scientific publications or news
If you post a full-length (or partial) publication or news article, please reference its origin or provide the appropriate URL when available. When posting this information it is also necessary to include a piece of commentary sharing why you are sharing this information and instigating conversation on the subject. Articles posted with no further comments, questions, or directions are subject to removal by forum moderators.

6. Avoid asking basic questions?
The forum is intended for higher level thinking discussions among members. Questions that can be answered by a simple search on an Internet search engine or aggregator (e.g. PubMed) should not be applicable to the forum threads. Discussions on scientific theories, research activities and methods, protocols, debates, equipment and career advice are all examples of utilizing the resources of your ALSC peers. All ALSC members are professionals working in the life science fields at graduate student level and above; courtesy of your peers' time, and intellectual nature is expected to be respected by all members and should be reflected in the nature of your posts.

7. Personal Attacks
Personal attacks on forum members will not be tolerated. If you feel that a member is abusing the rules, inform the Forum Administrators. It is the Administrator’s job to notify a forum member if they are breaking forum rules and enforce any related discipline. If you'd like to discuss something in private, you can use the PM feature to send a personal message to any forum member. Threads that contain personal attacks will be moderated, and deleted at the discretion of the administrators.

8. No "yelling" in the forum
Please type in Proper Case only. Typing in all-caps, LIKE THIS FOR EXAMPLE, is considered "yelling" in the forum. A forum moderator or admin may delete posts that are in all-caps.

9. No Advertising
Advertising is not allowed in the forum! A forum administrator will delete posts that include advertisements and appropriate action will be taken against the offending member.

10. Forum Links
If you provide links to URL's in your post, please verify they are correctly pointed. After you've posted, simply click on the link to test it. If the link is broken or misdirected, please click “edit” in your post to make corrections.

11. Choose an appropriate post title
If your post is titled appropriately, members will know ahead of time what your post is about. This may seem fairly straightforward, and it is, but it's often overlooked. Also, please keep in mind that the titles for new threads and recently posted to threads may be highlighted on the home page

12. Signatures and Avatars
Please keep your signatures professional, and your avatar (small picture associated with your profile) free of offensive content and not be under any copy write or trademark. Forum administrators reserve the right to take appropriate action against members who fail to comply with professional taste

13. Consequences
Repeat offenses against the forum rules will only receive few warnings, before their user account will be suspended or permanently disabled. Questions can be directed to info@asialifesciencecouncil.net
